The Preface

What better way to begin than in the present moment. My name is Tai Ceme, and I am a multidisciplinary artist working across film, creative direction, writing, craft, and beauty. This space is a living archive of my journey into storytelling through film, a medium I once imagined and have now fully stepped into. Along the way, I realized I have always been planting the same intention to create work that is felt, not just seen.

This short fashion film follows a woman in her late twenties (me) as she emerges from the darkness of depression, discovering that her struggles were the very process that shaped her healing. In just two minutes, music, visuals, and movement capture her raw truth, newfound perspective, and unstoppable passion for life.

I rediscovered this video unexpectedly while going through old files—a reminder of how much work can be created across different seasons of an artistic life, sometimes before its value is fully understood. As I reflect more deeply on my journey, I see how I was already moving toward film as a form of expression, even then. This piece is especially personal: it was filmed in my bedroom, surrounded by images of women I drew power from—women whose strength, presence, and spirit shaped this work, alongside the shared energy between the African woman at its center and her partner.

Music used in these visual studies serves as personal inspiration and is not intended for commercial use.
